Micro Precision Plastics

Micro Precision Plastics stands as a venerable family-owned and operated enterprise, distinguished as a front-runner in the realms of Injection Molding and Manufacturing. With a remarkable legacy spanning over four decades, they have become a stalwart supplier of components, products, and assemblies across diverse industries. Their footprint extends across Automotive, Consumer Goods, Safety, Spa & Pool, Building & Construction, Pharmaceuticals, Housewares, and beyond.
Their rich reservoir of experience and expertise in Research and Development, coupled with a commitment to innovative product development, assembly, and total quality management, accredited to ISO 9001 standards, positions them as a trusted partner. They forge enduring partnerships with brands and companies, fostering sustainable growth and delivering excellence in every endeavor.
At Micro Precision Plastics, their highly skilled team collaborates closely with brands and companies to bring forth cutting-edge, high-quality, and market-leading products that transcend local boundaries and resonate globally. Their arsenal comprises 22 Injection Molding machines, ranging from 30 to 800 tons, facilitating the design, engineering, and production of top-notch components and assemblies that align with global quality standards.
The roots of their journey trace back to 1972 when Ian Wilson, alongside Bruce Sinclair and Ray Fox, initiated a tool room in Mordialloc, christening it Micro Precision Tooling. The following year, Ian’s brother, Bob Wilson, joined the venture. Seizing an opportune moment when the factory’s owner vacated the space at the back of the tool room, Ian and Bob introduced injection molding machines to support tool trials and accommodate customer production needs.
In the subsequent years, the vision crystallized, and in 1977, Bob Wilson expanded operations by renting the adjacent factory, giving birth to Micro Plastics. Despite the challenges posed by the turbulent early ’90s, marked by high-interest rates and the closure of the State Bank of Victoria, Micro Precision’s tool room gracefully concluded its operations. Meanwhile, Micro Plastics not only weathered the storm but flourished. Over the ensuing two decades, it emerged as an industry pacesetter.
In a significant turn of events, in 2015, Russell Lacy, then General Manager, assumed ownership of the company. As a fitting tribute to the original founders, in 2021, he chose to rename the company to ‘Micro Precision Plastics.’ This move reflects their commitment to honoring their roots while embracing a future steeped in continued innovation, excellence, and industry leadership.
Micro Precision Plastics remains dedicated to delivering top-tier solutions, and they invite you to join them on this journey of excellence.
